ok so i saw a lot of people being like “LOL purple haze’s virus kills anything it infects immediately and giorno spends 15 minutes monologing”

and sure, purple haze’s virus DOES kill those it infects almost immediately, in 30 seconds to be exact….. but purple haze’s virus is also weak to sunlight. and giorno spends almost all of part 5 having light shine on him in blinding amounts, being described as warm, and being generally seen as a beacon, or a guiding light. and he’s literally named “day”.

well, i’m not sure what exactly is going on with giorno‘s relationship to light, but it might have something to do with the fact (technically) one of his dads was a crazy strong hamon user, a power which has been proven to be genetically transferable (see: jorge, joseph) which might be proven by how giorno‘s stand is like hamon on steroids, or maybe how when giorno was a toddler he grew the grass in that alleyway to hide the gangster when his stand hadn’t even awoken yet.

all i’m saying is that it might have been perfectly plausible for giorno to have sat around for more than 30 seconds while being infected with purple haze. because he could be literally radiating light without knowing it.
